On Thursday we tried out Dvolver in class for the first time. I showed the four 13-16 year olds in my class an example that I made before class, then they made their own. I can’t embed the videos as Dvolver is a flash-based system which doesn’t agree with wordpress. If you have a few minutes, please watch their video and let me know what you think! They’d love to hear your opinion.
Thanks!

I have to admit, I was mostly confused with the video. Were they trying to create a story around depicting certain emotions (jealousy)? There was a lot of distraction with the alien invasion, and while I can see the attempt at humor with the whole bubble bath thing, the movie seemed very random.
Not trying to be harsh, just matter of fact.
Hi Ben,
The process of fertile teen imaginations and a mixture of boys and girls. The main aim was to practise ‘I wish’ and ‘If only’
Thanks for the comment. They were mostly making it up as they went along
You’re the only person who’s commented so far! Hoping to get some more comments soon,

Ahhhh, I figured it was something like that. Always good to get some “play time” in with a new tool. I’d really love to see what happens once they have some more time with it, and have worked on a project for awhile
Hey Sandy,
First of all I loved the idea. If only I had a teenage class to practise with (see what I did) – only exam classes for me now.
I thought that it was a great way to practise the TL, I imagine that the teens had a whale of a time coming up with the ‘story’ too. Yeah, the film is a little random, but at least they were practising what they were supposed to. All in all a good idea, but would have perhaps made them come up with a written version of the story first and then let them loose on the programme.
I’ll tell the rest of the teaching staff in Palma about this Dvolver thing and see if they need their teen classes motivating!
Alex
Hi Alex,
Glad you liked it! It really is a fun tool to use.
